Even if its a parking spot in a trailer park while you are on vacation, someone who finds your animal can reunite you with your pet, providing the record has been updated with the correct contact information. So whatever you do or wherever you go, please remember to update your record. Keep your pet's information updated! Visual identification such as a the PetLynx collar tag or a tattoo is also important, even if you have a microchipped pet. With a visual tag anyone with internet access can reunite you with your pet by searching the PetLynx database. If visual identification has become unreadable you will also reduce the chances for recovery. Make sure you contact us for a new collar tag if you need one. And if you really want to have permanent identification, have your pet microchipped with a new ISO standard microchip that is readable anywhere in the world. Many of the euthanized numbers can be eliminated if all identification types are recorded and kept current, thereby increasing the opportunity for the pets return to their owners.
